Sports character animation
Unscriptd.
Character illustration and animation for Unscriptd’s Riyad Mahrez recipe video, followed by further recipe videos featuring other footballers.
The brief
Create an illustrated caricature of Riyad Mahrez and a warm visual style for The Riyad Rocket Smoothie, a short recipe video for social media.
The approach
I designed and illustrated the character, then animated it for the recipe video. Capturing a recognisable likeness was central to the work, alongside a visual style suited to the short social format.
The finished work
A ten-second character animation for the Riyad Mahrez recipe video. Unscriptd subsequently commissioned more recipe videos featuring other footballers.
My contribution
Character design, illustration and animation for sports social content.
